Martin Memorial Health Systems has served the medical needs of western St. Lucie County for 25 years. As the area has rapidly grown, those needs have increased along with the population.

To continue that mission of providing access to vital medical services, Martin Memorial will file an application with the Agency for Health Care Administration to build an off-site emergency department in western St. Lucie County. It will be called the Martin Memorial Emergency Center at St. Lucie West, and will be located in Martin Memorial’s existing facility at 1095 N.W. St. Lucie West Blvd.

Construction, which will take approximately 12 months, is expected to begin October 2008.

Martin Memorial will continue to pursue building a hospital in Tradition.
